Climate Learning Week, 10th – 14th Feb.
GET YOUR SCHOOL READY.
The next climate strike is on the 14th of Feb. This also coincides with a Climate Themed Learning Week supported by UCU, NEU, NUS, and the TES. See below for links to initial resources and ideas with more coming soon.
The week will run from 10th February to 14th February and the aim is for schools, colleges and other education institutions to integrate into that weeks learning the theme of the climate and ecological crisis.
The Climate Themed Learning Week is an initiative taken by activists and NEU, which developed from the Climate Emergency: Education for the Future conference which took place in October. It aims to respond to the demand for a curriculum which matches the urgency of the climate crisis. The focus of the week will be to allow teachers to work with young people in order to give a glimpse of a curriculum in which they are informed and empowered to address the urgency of the crisis.
UCU have provided an overview of the week and ideas for resources here which can be used in colleges and schools: https://ctlw.web.ucu.org.uk. The NEU will also provide a page of resources shortly. CACC have pulled together a range of resources: http://www.campaigncc.org/schoolresources and our website has ideas and resources for addressing the climate and ecological crisis across the curriculum https://learningrebellion.earth/resources/.
