When Sim learnt about the extent of the climate change emergency he used the power of music to turn his initial feelings of despondency into a music project that he could get his friends and community to join him with and that he could sing to politicians and policy makers at protests and conferences.
Sim set about inviting his cousins and friends to record the song with him and roped, Noah, his 14 year old brother, into capturing what they were up to. So far, Sim and his fellow climate warriors, have performed, ‘SOS from the Kids’, outside the Houses of Parliament, at school, at church and on two school strikes for climate in Portsmouth and London. They’ve sung and spoken at a climate conference for Hampshire County Council and been invited as guests on BBC Radio’s ‘The Early Late Show’ Radio Solent.
They have been singing at lots of UK Extinction Rebellion gatherings this Summer prompting Sir David Attenborough to write to them saying, “Thank you for all you are doing to help tackle the problem”. Inspirational words they will never forget.
